Classroom Policies

Attendance & Punctuality

  • Drop off only. Due to our limited studio space, and in order to prevent student distractions, we ask that after drop off you exit the studio for the remainder of class. Whether that be waiting in your car or running errands, we have found that it leads to a more productive classroom and a better student experience.

  • Notify us of absences. If your dancer will be absent, please let us know in advance by calling the front desk. Consistent attendance is important for a dancer's progress and for class choreography.

  • Be on time. Please arrive a few minutes before class starts. This allows your dancer to get settled and participate in the full warm-up, which is crucial for preventing injuries.

Dress Code & Studio Etiquette

  • Follow the dress code. Our classes here vary but we always ask that the students refrain from wearing any loose fitting clothing that could either distract them or prevent the instructor from proper safety and technique policies. Shoe requirements are as follows:

    • Ballet - Students will require pink ballet shoes, boys will wear black ballet shoes.

    • Ballroom - Students will require black jazz shoes, or black ballroom shoes if they prefer, just run them by the instructor to confirm they are applicable.

    • Acro - Students will be barefoot, with no socks to prevent slipping and ensure the accuracy of stunts.

  • Secure your hair. All dancers' hair must be pulled neatly away from the face. We always ask that it isn’t down as it can get in the way of specific moves and prevents the instructor from seeing

  • No jewelry. For safety reasons, please leave all dangling jewelry at home. Small stud earrings are acceptable.

  • Leave electronics behind. We understand the importance of having cell phones or smart watches, we just ask that they be set in the cubby for the duration of class and only used for emergencies.

  • Water only. Only water bottles with secure lids are allowed in the studio. Please, no food, gum, or other drinks.

Safety & Respect

  • Listen to your body. We encourage dancers to push themselves, but never through pain. If a student feels an injury, they should immediately inform their instructor.

  • Respect the space. Please help us keep the studio clean by putting your belongings in designated areas. Do not lean on mirrors or touch the sound equipment.

  • Show respect to all. Our studio is a supportive and positive environment. Please be respectful of your instructors and fellow dancers at all times.
