Level
I - Students at this level are between the ages of 3-6. These
young people have had either no training or just one year of experience
with movement vocabulary.
Level
IA - Students at this level are generally between the ages 5-7.
These students have had at least one year of training in dance techniques.
Level
IB
- Students at this level are generally between the ages of 6-8.
These students have had at least two years of training in dance
techniques and/or are quick studies for their age group. (Sring
2004)
Level
II - Students at this level are generally between the ages of
7-11. Students' experience ranges from no experience to basic skills
required within the last two years.
Level
IIA - Students at this level are generally between the ages
8-12. These students have had at least one years of ballet, two
years of dance experience. They must have a clear understanding
of basic body alignment, dance terminology, and fundamentals of
dance techniques.
Level
IIB
- Students at this level are generally between the ages 9-13. These
students have had at least two years of ballet, three years of dance
experience or are quick studies for their age group. They must have
a clear understanding of basic body alignment, dance terminology,
and fundamentals of dance techniques.
Level
III - Students at this level are generally between the ages
12-17. These young people have had little or no dance experience
or are returning from an extended period of leave from dance training.
Must have a desire to learn and acquire skill in the art of dance.
Level
IIIA - Students at this level are 12 years of age and older,
have acquired a high level of technical skill and are continuing
training with a professional focus. These students are seeking to
apply techniques to the ministry of dance on a professional level.
(Beginner/Intermediate)
Level
IIIB
- Students at this level are 12 years of age and older, have acquired
a high level of technical skill and are continuing training with
a professional focus. These students are seeking to apply techniques
to the ministry of dance on a professional level. (Intermediate/Advanced)
Adult
I (Beg) - These students are either beginner or intermediates.
They may have had previous dance experience at some point and would
like to revisit and fine tune movement vocabulary.
Adult
II (Int)
- These students have had some previous training and want to continue
building on that foundation in order to apply current dance ministry
involvement. These students should have had at least 1-2 years of
either ballet or modern dance technique.
