A 1994 graduate of Howard University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, Mrs. Standard has over 18 years of professional dance experience. She has received formal training in the art of Ballet, Modern, Tap, Jazz, and African at various schools, and graduated from the High School of the Performing Arts in New York City. She was also trained to serve in the ministry of Dance as a member of the Allen A.M.E. Liturgical Dance Ministry, also in New York City, under the pastorate of former United States Congressman Floyd H. Flake. She has taught 9-12 science and dance for Bowie HS, Fairmont Heights HS, currently teaches at Largo HS in PG County, Maryland, and is currently serving on the staff of Turning Point Academy, a public charter school in MD. She travels throughout the East Coast and the Caribbean facilitating workshops in varoius areas of dance ministry. She has hosted two successful movement ministry conferences in the Washington D.C. Metropolitan Area: "Dancing to the Rhythm of God's Revelation" 2000 and "Phases of Life" 2001. She has taught at various dance studios in the Washington D.C. Metropolitan area, and continues to share her gifts with any church who asks. She has choreographed for various dance ministries and Reid Temple AME's Theater Arts Ministry. She recently coordinated the dance component of the Gospel Heritage Praise and Worship Conference 2006 and is a member of New Dimensions Kingdom Ministries under the pastorate of Apostles Reginald and Annette Miles. She is currently the Chapter Associate for the Washington D.C. Metropolitan Area Chapter of the National Liturgical Dance Network.
